Serif went camping with Uncle Don and Aunt Shannon for the weekend. They left yesterday, Thursday and will be back Sunday. Jeff and I knew we'd have to keep busy in order to not miss him too much. We had originally thought about doing a weekend trip somewhere for a romantic getaway, but when we saw how excited he got over the bunk-beds from vacation we decided to work on giving him a big boy room!

We're heading back home from a whirlwind trip to IKEA in Cincinnati. It's amazing how much style you can get for such little money there! We were amazed at checkout! So anyways, I hadn't received a photo from them yet and it was about to kill me! Jeff texted them and they sent the above photo. Oh my goodness, I think we were both about to cry! We're so happy to see him so happy! I'm going through another phase of grasping reality at how big he is getting!!! He's turned in to a little boy! Thank you Don and Shannon for the great photo! You've made our day!

I would like to post more photos of our vacation. Here's a teaser shot in hopes that I find time soon to blog our vacation!

We got Serif these shark swim goggles while we were down there. I was reluctant to get them because I didn't know if he'd like the fact that it strapped to his head, but he loved them!

He even let Jeff bury him laying down! Only once because after that, he said the sun was too bright.

May 17 - Today's Quote

We were having a hard time coaxing Serif into going to the mall tonight so in order to lure him away from his hockey table, we told him he could pick a few players to go with us. He chose his lucky four and as he was walking through the kitchen he began to talk to them. "You want to go to the mall? Yeah! Okay!"

The "yeah!" was the hockey players response to the question. It was great hearing him interact with his imagination!

May 12 - Today's Quote

Serif's room at our vacation cottage has bunk beds. He's loving them!!! He wanted me to get on the top bunk with him, so I did. He was running and falling and laughing and I would tickle him when he fell. He fell next to me and looked at me and smiled and said, "We having fun all day long." I laughed and said, "Yes, we are." He repeated himself again and then said, "We're happy." He had the biggest grin on his face and it just made me melt. He put his arm around me and said, "Awww." That just made the whole trip for me. He is so sweet.

Florida, Here we come!

May 10 - Today's Quote

We went to Long Hunter State Park last weekend and Serif fell on the sidewalk and scraped his knee pretty good. It's now scabbing over. This morning he rubbed it and said to me, "I got a fuzzy boo."

We were just eating dinner when I decided to take a bite of Serif's sandwich. I was trying to show him how good it was so he'd eat it. When I put the sandwich back on his plate he pointed at me with a somewhat serious look on his face and said, "You ate my food." He had a tone in his voice that was different than usual, like he couldn't believe I did that and that it was bad of me to eat his food without asking. It was funny but kind of made me feel bad. I should've asked first and I guess I will next time. Oops.

I tried to get his picture for this post and had a hard time getting him to look at me. He finally did with a big "CHEESE!!!" hehehe.

Bye Ms. Jen

Ms. Jen has been our favorite teacher since Serif has moved to the two year old class. She got a job at another daycare closer to home that is going to make her life much simpler. We wish her the best, but we are sure going to miss her. She was always so sweet with Serif and always quick to console in the mornings when I would drop him off.

She was Serif's sitter Tuesday night while Jeff and I went to ESa's (my work) 50th Anniversary Reception at the Symphony. It was a nice evening for all of us. Serif just loves Ms. Jen. She took this photo while she was here. I guess they decided to play dress up in his Halloween costume. When we got home, her 4 year old son was in it and was so cute. I didn't get any photos but glad she did. She sent me this one and I think it's probably the cutest one we have of him in it! I just love it!
