Dinner Quote

"The corn is the crowd and they are watching the show." I then gave him a carrot for the musician and a green bean for the guitar. He spent another 15 minutes at the table playing. This afternoon we got our free frosty's from the predators game. He got towards the end and I took the lid off so he could drink the rest. He was almost done when he came up for air and said, "This is the best drink ever! Ever!" - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Quiet Time

We stopped doing nap-time for Serif because we just all got frustrated and out of whack and no one napped. Upon recommendation of his pediatrician, we are now doing quiet time. He doesn't have to nap but he does have to stay in his room for at least an hour (our timing). He can play quietly, read book or draw on his crayola light-pad but he just has to have down time (or should I say, we need down time?) Anyways, here's a typical shot if his room when quiet time is over. Thought it would be something fun to remember. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

"Dori!!!"

I just came to get Serif from school and they're watching Finding Nemo (his favorite). He could seriously care less that I'm even here. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

"Hey! It's Goalies!"

I was cutting these peppers up for dinner tonight and Serif looks over and says, "Hey! It's goalies!" He had to play with them and would never let me cut the green one up. I guess we'll just have red and yellow peppers in our fajitas.

Brushing with Lightning Speed

Serifs finally starting to do a decent job brushing his teeth by himself. We still take a turn, but tonight he was awesome! No arguing or dragging it out that he had to brush his teeth. How nice! It's usually the battle before bed. He also is running a low grade fever and he even turned out his moon light without me asking. Whoa. Yeah, that was pretty nice too. One day this just might be the norm . . . maybe? - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

A dinosaur morning.

Serif wanted me to read "Oh Say, Can you say Dinosaur" book by Dr. Suess this morning. I read it to him and then asked what he wanted to wear to school. Well, of course he said, "My dinosaur costume!" I told him he couldn't wear the costume to school but I would get his hat for him. That was perfect. Here are some photos from the morning. He's starting a hilarious "funny face" stage . . . as you can see.

A Text from School

I just got this text from Serif's teacher: "I had to talk to Serif.. I had to tell him he is going to have to learn to defend himself.. So if he beats somebody up BLAME IT ALL ON ME..LOL" Update: We spoke with his teachers and the director this morning so we could all get on the same page. He is not being bullied or picked out of the crowd. He's just sensitive, quiet and not like most other rough-housing boys. He's got to learn to use his words when kids hurt him and to tell them to stop and that it hurts. They are going to work on getting Serif to speak up to other kids. He's so passive that it's not in him to push back. I'm grateful he is the way he is but I do hope he learns that it's okay to stand up for himself. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
