I took Friday off and spent the morning with Serif: What beautiful weather! He's been wanting to go to my work for a while, so I took him up there to see everyone. He did great and wasn't as shy as he typically is. I picked up cookies for him to pass out and I think that him going to people instead of people coming to him was the trick. Here's a photo of Serif that was taken by our good friend, Justin.

He did go to daycare for the afternoon but I picked him up early. On our way home, there happened to be a parking spot available on 2nd that allowed us to stop and enjoy the riverfront for a little bit. I always point it out as we pass by but seem to be too much in a hurry to get home to ever stop and really enjoy it. We got there just in time to see two very large barges sail down the river. Serif loved it! Here are a few photos of our afternoon.

He looks so big to me in the above photo!!!

That night we strolled down to the new Five-Points Pizza and had ice-cream dessert at the Pied Piper Creamery. On our way home we realized that they have opened the school playground to the neighborhood, so we got to go in and enjoy that until it started getting dark. No photos of the playground but I did get this one showing the evidence of a good chocolate peanut butter ice-cream cone!

I'm sorry I somehow missed this (and others) but it is so sweet! i love you got to take a day off and do such great things together. i am often in a hurry but every once inawhile Evans sweet begging to 'go see waterfall' by our house, penetrates my tunnel vision. It is always worth it to endulge their whims or even routine requests. :) we are good parents. xo what a wonderful post.
