I took Friday off and spent the morning with Serif: What beautiful weather! He's been wanting to go to my work for a while, so I took him up there to see everyone. He did great and wasn't as shy as he typically is. I picked up cookies for him to pass out and I think that him going to people instead of people coming to him was the trick. Here's a photo of Serif that was taken by our good friend, Justin.
He did go to daycare for the afternoon but I picked him up early. On our way home, there happened to be a parking spot available on 2nd that allowed us to stop and enjoy the riverfront for a little bit. I always point it out as we pass by but seem to be too much in a hurry to get home to ever stop and really enjoy it. We got there just in time to see two very large barges sail down the river. Serif loved it! Here are a few photos of our afternoon.
He looks so big to me in the above photo!!!
That night we strolled down to the new Five-Points Pizza and had ice-cream dessert at the Pied Piper Creamery. On our way home we realized that they have opened the school playground to the neighborhood, so we got to go in and enjoy that until it started getting dark. No photos of the playground but I did get this one showing the evidence of a good chocolate peanut butter ice-cream cone!
It's 9:30 pm and we're headed home from Grandpa's house. Serif keeps telling us all of these things he wants to do tonight. We keep telling him okay and we can do it tomorrow. Finally, he said that he wanted to go for a walk and before we could even say anything he said, "No, no, no, no, no, we need to go walking today."
I was in the bathroom getting ready for work this morning when I suddenly heard the pitter patter of little feet coming down the hall. When I looked over to the door this is what I saw!
Serif and I went in to 'Once Upon A Time' children's consignment store in Friday and had a ball! We found this really cool cowboy "Woody" vest and a dinosaur costume! We were actually just killing time before my sister got home so we could get firewood for our backyard camping extravaganza (more on that later). Here are a few photos of him that were taken the next day.
. . . and pooping in the potty consistently, he just let me down. I tried to have a calm rational talk with him about it and when I asked him what made him do that, he said, "Jesus made me do that."
