Thank you for all the things we got to do today. Thank you for all my favorite stuffed animals. Help me to make good decisions. Amen. ~Serif

A Funny

We were at pottery barn kids today and serif found a desk with a toy phone on it. He immediately went over and said, "Hey! This is like daddy's work!" He sat down and proceeded to make a call. He dialed a number then sat and waited. I asked him if anyone was picking up and he responded, "It's loading." It obviously cracked me up that he was getting a computer and a phone mixed up but as I thought about it, they are sort of the same thing these days. Shortly after that he handed me the phone and said. "Here mommy, It's your Grandma!" :)

Proud Moments
Serif was so proud of himself today. I was laundering his bed linens when he came to get me to show me something "so exciting!" "I made my bed all by myself! I 'm so proud of myself!" he said.

I hated to inform him later that he would have to take it all down and start over so I could put the linens back on. He was leery at first because he didn't think he could remember where everything went. So, I took a picture to remind him.

He helped make the bed then sent me in the other room while he fixed the rest. Somehow when he pulled me back in there, the animals had multiplied! But look at how neat and clean everything is! Proud moments.

Ready for Halloween!

We went to Kroger after church today and Serif immediately spotted the pumpkins! This particular store had shopping carts just his size so I let him get one to carry our pumpkin. George tagged along today too.

Once we got home, we had lunch and he wanted to carve the pumpkin. This prompted looking through our halloween bins where we found face paint, bats, skeletons and much more. He was inspired by the guy on the face paint package to have his face painted. This is the first. He has never been interested in that prior to now. He even asked for the red paint to be applied to the center of his forehead like his head was cracked and bleeding.

He then wanted to paint my face so I let him. We were really having a lot of fun.

Then it was time to carve the pumpkin. I always forget how long the cleaning process takes. He was pretty patient and played with the guts for a long time.

We looked online and on Pinterest for ideas for our pumpkin. I didn't really want to carve it yet since it won't last that long and wanted to paint it or something. Of all the pretty pumpkins on there, the one he picked out to mimic was a skeleton cave. He is definitely Jeff's son! :)

He just got this skeleton at the dollar tree in Florida. I thought it would be too big but we managed to fit him in there pretty well. We also added a bat and spider.

Once all the pumpkin stuff was cleaned up and done, he went to find his bat wings to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas. It's been one Halloween fun day!

Zoo Visit

The weather has started cooling down and it's making for some good use of outdoor time. We've finally made it back to the zoo!

Where's Serif?

The new kangaroo exhibit opened up last week and it is awesome! Definitely our new favorite!

Heeheehee.

"Mommy, do you know why I always give flowers to you? Because I love you."

"Mommy, do you want to take my picture on this rock?"
