A new pair of shades

So Serif got an Easter basket from Granddaddy and Barbara yesterday. Inside this basket of treats came these wonderful turqoise blue sunglasses. Serif immediately put them on and took to them off the bat. Last night he kept them on for probably 30 minutes as he played. Well, tonight Jeff has texted me 3 photos of Serif . . .

Ready for daycare!

We were heading out the door this morning and as I'm grabbing my purse and giving Helmut his treat, Serif decided to gather a few things for himself.

First Ear Infection

Well, we just got the news that Serif has his first ear infection. He's had a cold all week, but Monday, he got sent home from daycare with a slight fever and him not eating, sleeping or feeling well. He was obviously not himself and so we knew it was time for a doctor visit. He did well during the visit, but as soon as we went in the room and shut the door, he balled! He was so clingy to me that he would not let go for anything, even Jeff! The nurse said he reminded her of a tree frog with suction feet! Poor guy.

So anyways, he's taking antibiotics for 10 days and that should cover it. He did get sent home from daycare again this afternoon due to his left eardrum bursting. They noticed it draining during playtime and so they called for us to get him and check on him. Everything's fine and apparently very normal with an ear infection. The only weird thing is that his infection was only sited in his right ear. The doctor said it can move very quickly and to call him back on Friday to let him know how he's doing. So, hopefully all will be well by then. In the meantime, expect more possible drainage for the next day or two.

The above photo was taken last night about 30 minutes after Jeff put him to bed. He was having a hard time settling down so Jeff waited to cover him up until he fell asleep. When we went in there to cover him up, realized he had both blankets in the bed with him, cuddling them . . . and his sock monkey. It was so sweet, we had to get a photo of him. I feel so bad, I know he doesn't feel his best. It should all be over soon.

An Afternoon with Granddaddy

We don't get to see my dad that often and it typically works out the he gets to watch him when I have my dentist appointments. This past Friday, I had an appointment and so Dad was able to keep him for me. I actually ended up taking the day off work and getting there early so we could have time to eat lunch and get settled in before I had to leave. My brother happened to be around and got to show me and Serif his cigar box guitars he's been working on. They are SO cool! Serif and I both loved them! Way to go Uncle David!

Once the time came for me to leave, Serif was enjoying all the toys and didn't mind my leaving at all. He did great the entire time! When I got home from the appointment, he just looked at me nonchalantly and kept playing. He was so content and I was so impressed!

Granddaddy got this really cool exercise ball for Christmas that has sand in it to keep it from taking off from underneath you. I do believe this was Serif's favorite thing! They played together with it while I was gone and went for a round 2 when I got back. Serif had more fun. Thank you Granddaddy for keeping him and showing him such a fun time! He loved his time with you . . . and I did too! We love you dearly!

Serif also loves playing chase. The past few days have been full of squeals, laughs and running from each other. He is just bursting at the seams! I couldn't resist posting this video. I had the camera sitting on the fireplace and he ran straight for it. Too funny.
